home: Tendring WaterAid Team
A group of farmers and builders from The Tendring Hundred,
Essex are off on a 16,000 mile mission; their aim to raise money for WaterAid.
The ten - Sam Lawrence, Barry Thurlow, Robert Macdonald, Thomson Mitchell, Adam Brown, George Wright, Ben and Geoff Parker, Ken and Tom Brown - set off in five Land Rovers on Boxing Day from Great Bentley Village Green. Via Tower Bridge, London they will travel through France, Italy, Sicily, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and finally to South Africa.
In Lusaka they met up with Andrew Poole and Sharon Peck, who collected a sixth land rover to join them till they reach Cape Town, hopefully at the beginning of March. All are sponsoring their own trip but seeking sponsorship for WaterAid in support of their nine week journey.
Most of the team relaxing in the sun
